We met Andy Jeter Wednesday for lunch at a Cracker Barrel. The Kansas City BBQ chicken was unreal. Drove to Ft. Lauderdale to check into our hotel rooms. Attached to the lobby was a sports bar with dollar-beer, all-you-can-eat ribs, and karaoke. The whole band took up the back table all night, highlights include Dusty legit killing it singing some Billy Idol, me ridiculously killing it singing (yelling) "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," telling people over the mic that my grandfathers-grandfather originally recorded the song and giving shout-outs to the staff, and when the whole band on the patio singing Happy Birthday Top Gun-style for the waitress. After the bar closed up Scott & I hit the swimming pool to beat the insane Florida heat, stupid hot even in the dead of night.
Got up the next day and drove down to the beach. So hot, us nine pasty-white definitely Canadians definitely stood-out. Went down to the Monterey Club where we played with Askultura & The Sheffield Crew. Awesome show, the bands were all awesome & inspiring to watch, and the bar staff at Monterey Club are some of the raddest people on the planet. If I lived in Ft. Lauderdale that bar would be my second home.
