Left the Drake in Canmore and drove to Calgary to pick up our passes / packages for Sled Island. Left later for Red Deer where the band dropped me off at Matchbox Theatre to play a jazz gig with Diana Stabel (www.dianastabel.com) and the C-Notes (www.myspace.com/diginitmusic), as well as Steve Frise, Ian Morris, and Khi Mattu from Five Points Quintet & Atlas Shrug fame.
Gig went a little late, ran from the stage to the car to Cheers North in time to run on stage and start the first set with Rude City Riot. Awesome show, met some cool people (Scotty and the Staples crew!) and hung out with the Jolts (www.myspace.com/thejolts) and Uptown Riot (www.myspace.com/uptownriot).
Drove to Edmonton after the show, had Scott & Nick to stay over at my place on Whyte Aveune, they set up a tent on my rooftop and did some 82nd ave urban camping. Meeting the band for lunch at Dadeo and then soundcheck at Brixx Bar & Grill.
