Sitting at Nimbus upstairs in studio D. We're an hour or two overtime tonight, so the building is pretty well empty. It was sunny today, which is especially awesome because studio D has windows... Windows that look outside... Windows that let in natural light...
We've turned off most of the lights, nice vibe in the room with the Vancouver skyline out the window. S.A. is laying down more guitar parts with Alex and Spokaine.
I'm guessing we'll probably get out of here around 11:30 or midnight tonight, then up Main street two blocks to the green couch at Lacey and Erik's. They're leaving tomorrow morning for a gig Erik has in Whistler. I'm also up early, Day 5 is the day we finally lay down the horn parts. Bright and early, 9 a.m.
Nervous about the two solos I'm laying down ("Imposter Man" & "Rudies Don't Care.') I haven't played my horn since last Friday's gig at Shark Club. Doesn't seem like a whole week, guess spending the weekend surfing 3 different couches and spending all this week in the control room has kept me busy. Whatever, I'm comfortable, I'll lay down something good eventually. Auto-tuned, composited from 20 separate takes, with each note digitally corrected to be exactly in time. And all played by a better saxophonist, probably some session guy that's willing to wave performer credit.
