After the studio last night, Lacey, Erik and I went to the Black Frog to catch the Oilers/Hurricanes game. We won, but we're still dead last in the league for points. Saw Newby from Black Dog & the Empress there at the Frog, awesome that he's working there.
Went to a movie wrap-up party with Erik and Lacey, met some cool people, and free Guiness is always good. Then the Irish Heather for more Guiness/Kilkenny/Harp, followed by the short walk to Railway Club, stopping on the way to meet Don "the Devistator," a drummer Erik plays with a lot.
Railway was awesome. Cheap cover, pitcher of blended beer (they ran out of "whatever was cheapest," so they mixed in a darker beer for me,) and some Jag. Mondays are sing-a-long nights, where a live band plays requests and the whole bar yells the words along, however drunkenly.
Quick cab home and right to bed (sleeping bag/couch) for a good night's sleep for another day of recording.
Up at the crack of 8:30/9:00/9:30 to hunt around Broadway & Main for breakfast: Reno's! Kind of expensive (compared to Bon's), and didn't really taste that good (compared to Bon's), and wasn't really that large of a portion (compared to Bon's), but the cafeteria style self-service, and the feeling that I might be stabbed or jacked for my stuff really added to the greasy-spoon charm.
Been in the studio since then, keeping my spot on the leather couch warm while we lay down bass tracks. Same Old Story is done, Bonnie and Clyde sound HEAVY. Savage breakdown on the fat 5th string.
Meeting up with Zephan tonight, party is the word. HEY, YOUR NAME'S DARCY, RIGHT??
