Vancouver BC

Flew in from Calgary with Dusty Lionhart III Sunday, hung out at Dan's place and listened to music for a few hours. Then met up with the band in the studio and worked more on recording demos with Cam and James. Met Malcolm from The Easy Brothers. Awesome guy. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/theeasybrothers.

Monday afternoon Dusty took me for a haircut at the Chop Shop. I love it, I'm going back everytime I'm in Vancouver now. Even if I don't need a haircut. Cailey is awesome; if you ever go, book with her. After all-you-can-eat sushi in North Van at Katsu I met with my best friend Rochelle from Saint Albert for coffee, and then rehearsed with the band at NAL. Then pints with my friend from Edmonton Jessica who's here doing an internship with Mint. Met her uncle who she's staying with here (a certain unnamed former Canucks icon from the 90's) and starstuckenly stammered out a "nice to meet you" and gave an awkward handshake.

About to grab lunch with Dusty (he's a few blocks away from where I'm staying in Van) and then a power-rehearsal all night again at HAL. Leave for Edmonton tomorrow morning. Back soon before June/July's Power Tour. I'm really excited about playing Sled Island Music Festival and Victoria Ska Fest this year, but I'm also really looking forward to Canmore on June 24. The Drake is one of my favourite stages to play of all time. It's a smaller room, the staff are always awesome people, the band house has a home-away-from-home feel to it, and Canmore always seems to bring out the coolest people to live shows.
